Oil A Janome 108 Sewing Machine

A Janome 108 sewing machine is a reliable workhorse.

A Janome 108 model sewing machine is a simple, basic workhorse of a machine. It's got a sturdy cast-iron construction, weighs about 17 pounds, has all the necessary utilitarian stitches and a buttonholer. It's a straight-forward machine that only requires oiling of its moving parts two to three times a year, and it'll keep going. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Turn the screw on the left-hand side of the machine and remove the face plate.

2. Lift the carrying handle.

3. Remove the two screws on the top of the machine and take off the cover.

4. Wipe off the machine parts before oiling. Dust the inner workings with the machine's supplied duster, or with a small soft brush.

5. Apply a few drops of quality sewing machine oil to all movable parts. There are three such parts on the left side and three parts on the top of the machine.

6. Wait a few minutes and wipe away any excess oil.

7. Replace the face plate and the top cover and screw them back into place.
