Read Free Books Online

Reading is one of life's luxuries and pleasures. Most of us learn read in kindergarten, and we improve upon this skill as life goes on. Avid readers are known for having better vocabularies and often far better mastery of speaking eloquently and expressing how they feel. The more you know, the more you can expand your mind. Reading offers us the power to constantly learn and expand our horizons. Finding books online to read for free is a fun perk of the information age. These books are also known as ebooks. It's now possible to find an entire library of ebooks to read for free.


Instructions


1. Go to the Project Gutenberg website. There are tens of thousands of books available on this fine site, and they are all yours free for the taking and reading. Most of these are older books with a copyright date that has expired (see Resources below).


2. Check the website of your favorite author. Some writers put up free chapters--or entire books--on their official sites to entice their readers and fan base to come to the website. It also is often as a "thank you" for years of support lent to a successful author.


3. Surf on over to Bibliomania, a collection of free online literature. You can get fiction ebooks and even study guides here, all offered for free (see Resources below).


4. Get technical with a huge selection of technical Internet books that are available from Linux. if you've ever wanted to step across that threshold and learn about the inner workings of all things hardcore and technologically savvy, this is the website for you (see Resources below).


5. Type in the book that you are searching for into your favorite search engine. Add in words like "free online ebook." You just may come across the book for free. Read and enjoy! Just make sure that it's legally placed there.


6. Go Hollywood. Script-o-Rama is a great website that boasts hundreds of feature-length scripts that are yours to read for free. They are the scripts of many a famous novel and book. If you are writing a book report, however, make sure that you read the book, too. Changes are often made in the script version (see Resources below).
