Replacing your Canada Post box key is easy
Canada Post has several options for types of mailboxes. Some communities or apartment buildings have Community Mailboxes, to which each member has his own key. Canada Post Postal Boxes are individual mailboxes that vary in size from small to large. If you lose the keys to a Canada Post box, no matter the type, replacement keys are very easy to get and Canada Post does all of the work; you only need to go pick up the keys when they're finished. Instructions
Replacing Postal Box Keys
1. Go to your local Canada Post Office or contact Canada Post at 1-866-607-6301.
2. Request a change of lock and a set of replacement keys. Canada Post does not provide new keys without changing the lock.
3. Canada Post will replace the lock on your mailbox. They will leave a Delivery Notice Card on your front step with the address of the Post Office where you can get your replacement keys.
4. Bring the Delivery Notice Card that you receive to the Post Office indicated along with photo identification. You'll need to pay the current key deposit fee ($15 as of 2010) to get a new pair of keys.

5. Contact Canada Post online to request new keys.
6. Canada Post will change the lock and leave a Delivery Notice Card on your front step with the address of the Post Office where you can get your replacement keys.
7. Bring the Delivery Notice Card that you receive to the Post Office indicated along with photo identification. As of 2010, the fee for two replacement Community Mail Box keys was $25 plus tax.
