Repair A Cd Dvd Or Video Game Disk With Peanut Butter

Don't Throw it Away! Fix it!

Even the most deeply scratched CD, DVD, or video game disk can almost always gain a little more life with a bit of peanut butter. Better than having to replace an expensive video game or worse irreplaceable data, using this trick can extend the life of your disks as well as save you money.

Instructions

1. Gently clean the disk with a lint free cloth to remove any dust or debris from the surface of the disk.

2. Smear peanut butter on the disk with your finger (Do I need to mention that it should be "smooth' peanut butter, not chunky?). It is best to spread the peanut butter from the center of the disk to the outside perimeter of the disk (See photo).

3. Using a lint free or other soft cloth, gently wipe the peanut butter off of the disk in the same direction (center to outside) as you applied it. Ensure you remove all visible peanut butter.

4. Protect your disks! Leaving expensive disks lying around and not properly stored is asking for trouble. However, if you happen to (or lend a disk to someone that is sure to), try this trick before throwing the disk away.
