Get A Usda Home Improvement Grant

USDA Home Improvement Grants are an ideal tool for homeowners who can't otherwise afford to make security or health-related improvements to their home. There are some specific steps to follow in applying for and getting one of these loans.

Instructions

1. Determine if you are eligible for the grant by proving you have tried to obtain credit loans at a bank and have been turned away due to bad or poor credit scores and/or you have been deemed unable to repay a Section 504 loan, the government loan for housing improvement. You also much be 62 years of age or older to qualify.

2. Apply for the grant and write your improvements on the application. Choose to make your home more safe or sanitary or to remove health concerns.

3. Maintain the building codes for adding any improvements to your home.

4. Contact your local USDA rural development office for a form and help in submitting for approval. A decision should come back to you within 30 to 60 days.
