Make Changes In A Rca Dlp Tv Service Menu

An RCA DLP (digital light processing) television has a hidden menu designed for use by service technicians. This hidden "service menu" allows for control over various aspects of the TV that are otherwise disallowed. To see whether the adjustments that have been made to the image of the TV are acceptable, access the service menu and activate the built-in test patterns. The remote that comes with the RCA DLP television is all that is needed.

Instructions

1. Press the "Power" button on the the RCA DLP television's remote to take the set out of standby mode.

2. Press and hold the "Menu" button and the "Channel -" tab that are on the front or side panel of the RCA television. The actual placement of the control panel will depend upon the particular RCA model. Release the button and tab once the service menu appears on the screen.

3. Press the "Channel -" tab to highlight the "Service alignment" option. Press the "Menu" button once; these commands and all those that follow can be accessed through the remote control.

4. Press the "Vol +" tab to move the onscreen slider to "80." Press the "Menu" button. Watch the test pattern screen appear and then disappear on the screen. Press the "Menu" button when done to stop the test patterns. Press the "Menu" button once more to exit the service menu.
