Who Is The Ceo For Quicken Loans

Quicken Loans was formed in 1985 by Dan Gilbert, who is still chairman. The company was originally formed as Rock Financial Corp. by Gilbert when he was a 22-year-old student.

Significance

While Gilbert is the driving force behind Quicken Loans, the Chief Executive Officer is William Emerson. Emerson graduated from Penn State University, where he played football.

Time Frame

Emerson first joined Quicken Loans in 1993 and became CEO in 2002.

History

Before becoming CEO, Emerson held various positions with the company, including vice president of mortgage operations.

Considerations

Gilbert sold Rock Financial Corp. to Intuit, the makers of Quicken and TurboTax, in 1999. Intuit renamed the company Quicken Loans and Gilbert kept the name when he purchased the company back from Intuit in 2002.

Fun Fact

Gilbert is also the majority owner of the National Basketball Association's Cleveland Cavaliers. He purchased the team in 2005. The Cavaliers play their home games in Quicken Loans Arena.
