Energy Reduction Rebates In Texas

There are many incentives for increasing energy efficiency in Texas.

Energy demand in Texas is high, as the warmer average annual temperatures of the state create a need for air conditioning for most of the year. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, Texas consumes more energy than any other state. Subsequently, many power companies in Texas have started programs with incentives and rebates for energy reduction. The Texas state government has grant programs for the installation of renewable energy technologies, as well as tax incentives for consumers and businesses. Does this Spark an idea?

Denton Municipal Electric - GreenSense Energy Efficiency Rebate Program

Denton Municipal Electric, operated by the city of Denton, offers rebates on energy efficient equipment and improvements to buildings for any customer using their electric service. These rebates can be as much as $700 for a new heat pump or 30% of the total invoice for the installation of energy efficient windows. Rebates are credited on customers’ electric bills, or are paid in cash to developers of new buildings. Installation of eligible equipment must be done by a contractor approved by Denton Municipal Electric.
