Released in 2010, the Sharper Image Literati e-reader tablet was met with mixed reviews by technology publications. Though praised for its color LCD display screen and Wi-Fi capability, the Literati was criticized by some for its bulkiness and slow performance in comparison to the market-leading Kindle and Nook e-readers. Taking the machine's features and functions into consideration is the best way to decide if the device meets your criteria for an e-reader.
External and Internal Features
Designed to be taken anywhere, the Literati measures 8.5 inches long, 4.5 inches wide and 0.5 inches deep and weighs 12.5 oz. The device comes with a seven-inch thin-film transistor active matrix color screen. Equipped with 512MB of internal memory, the machine has a built-in miniSD card slot that supports miniSD and miniSDHC cards for expanded memory. For adding files and synchronizing data, the Literati can connect to a personal computer through a USB cable. The tablet's full QWERTY keyboard is situated directly beneath its display screen.

Miscellaneous
The Sharper Image Literati gives you the option of adjusting the display screen settings to suit your personal preferences. For instance, the computer allows you to adjust the typeface and text size of the screen's content. You can also change the display to night mode which changes the text to white and the background to black, making it easier to read in darker environments.
