Section 8 Housing
Broward County Florida offers public section 8 housing assistance to people who are in a specific income bracket and meet the qualifications. The Broward County Housing Authority has a variety of houses, condos and apartments available at a rental price based on individual income. You can rent a house for almost no money, and sometimes you can even obtain free rent until you are able to increase your income.
Instructions
1. Check Your Qualifications
In order to see if you qualify for section 8 housing assistance, go to the Broward County Housing Authority website, which is based out of Broward County, Florida and click on section 8 in the taskbar on top of the page. On the next page, click on vouchers to read the eligibility requirements to qualify for section 8 housing. Your income will determine if you are eligible for free housing or reduced housing costs.
2. Waiting List
Click on How Do I Apply located in the sidebar to check and see if the waiting list for low cost housing is open. Section 8 housing in Broward County, Florida usually opens up their waiting list about once per year. Checking daily is recommended, because when the waiting list opens, it fills quickly. Bookmark the site to be you have easy access and can look daily to see if the section 8 waiting list has been opened.
