Troubleshoot Night Owl Optics Binoculars

Night Owl optics makes a range of night vision-enhanced viewing optics. Among these products are the Night Owl binoculars. These binoculars are battery operated and use special light-sensitive lenses that enhance views of the nighttime environment. If you have a pair of the Night Owl binoculars that are not functioning as directed, use a series of troubleshooting tips recommended by the company to try to identify the problem.

Instructions

1. Take the binoculars into a lit area and make sure the lens cap is off. Try adjusting the focus. If the eye piece focuses, use the binoculars in the dark but leave the lens cap off. If it does not focus, contact Night Owl customer service at (800) 444-5994.

2. Open the battery compartment and make sure the batteries are in the correct position. Place the housing back over the batteries and turn the unit on. If it does not turn on, change the batteries and try again. Look for the light indicating it is on after pressing the "Infrared Illuminator Control" button on the outer-left side of the optics. If it does not turn on, call Night Owl customer service.

3. Look through the optics with the unit on and in a dark area. Adjust the illumination using the "Infrared Illuminator Control" button. If the image is too dark to see, try adjusting the Infrared Illuminator Control once more. Check to make sure the lens cap is off.

4. Check the brightness of the projected image in the viewfinder. If it is fading, the batteries are low and need replacing.
