Repair Leupold Binoculars

Leupold Optics produces a range of binoculars designed for bird and wildlife watching. These optics are waterproofed and treated with argon-nitrogen to prevent fogging. The optics range from 10x50 to 8x42. Foldable eye-piece rubber allows users with eye-glasses to use these field optics without removing their spectacles. Over time, the focus adjustment screw may loosen, or the lenses may need cleaning. These repairs are done in a workshop. Repairing the optical lenses or trying to correct inter-pupillary distance is not recommended unless you are a trained professional, as improper corrections may lead to eye damage.

Instructions

1. Set the Leupold binoculars onto a flat work space or bench. Tighten any screws on the optic barrels and on the focus dial. Do not over-tighten, just turn the screws until firm.

2. Push the eye-pieces down toward the barrels and check that the foldable rubber has no dry rot or erosion. If damage is present, pull the eye pieces off and replace them with new rubber eye pieces. You can pull the eye pieces off with tweezers.

3. Pour some lens solution onto a chamois and wipe the lenses. Use a dust-free cloth to dry and polish the lenses after the solution treatment.

4. Spray the lenses with compressed air to blow off any remaining dust particles or debris.
