Raise The Value Of A Mobile Home

Many of the same factors that affect the value of a regular site-built home also affect the value of a mobile home. Happily, there are countless ways to raise the value of your home, whether it is a site-built home or a mobile home. While many of these are the same for both mobile and site-built homes, some are unique to mobile homes. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions


1. Repaint the walls.


2. Replace the carpeting, tile or other flooring.


3. Repair any cracks, leaks or broken appliances.


4. Install additional appliances, such as a microwave, dishwasher or refrigerator, if the home is not already equipped with these.


5. Replace the countertops. Consider replacing them with an expensive stone such as granite.


6. Install ceiling fans.


7. Install central air conditioning. If the home already has central air conditioning, then consider installing a larger air conditioning unit.


8. Replace the water heater with one with a greater capacity.


9. Caulk around windows and doors.


10. Add a bay window.


11. Add a porch or a deck. Consider covering them.


12. Place the home on concrete posts.


13. Anchor or tie-down the mobile home if it is not on a permanent foundation.


14. Install stairs leading up to the home.


15. Add a protective skirt around the base of the mobile home.


16. Replace the siding. Consider replacing metal or hardboard siding with vinyl.


17.Replace the roof. Consider replacing metal roofs with shingled ones.
