Repair Celestron Binoculars

Celestron is a company known for its field and star gazing optics. Among its products are a series of binoculars designed for bird and wildlife watching. Celestron binoculars have focusing eye pieces and some of the products use nitrogen-filled chambers to the lenses from fogging. If you own a pair of Celestron binoculars that need repair, try using a few tested tips to bring your field glasses back up to working order. However, if the collimation, known also as the optical alignment, goes out in the binoculars, Celestron requests they be repaired by the company's trained specialists, as improper adjustments may lead to eye damage.

Instructions

1. Hold the binoculars with one hand and spray the compressed air canister on the eye piece lenses and rear side lenses.

2. Rub the lenses down with the low-friction chamois cloth and a dollop of the lens cleaning solution. Brush the lenses with the lens brush. Let the lenses dry.

3. Spray the lenses once more with the compressed air.

4. Tighten all of the retaining screws on the plastic shields of the optics with the screwdriver. These are found underneath the eye pieces and on the black plates that house the binocular barrels.

5. Push the eye pieces and barrels together to test the tightness and to ensure it is to your desired specification.
