Auto Body Schools In North Carolina

Auto body school will teach the basics of outside body repair.


In an auto body school, students learn the basics of painting a car, doing body work and some basic mechanics. This type of education will prepare students for going to work in an independent body shop or for a dealership that has an auto body shop on the premises. North Carolina has several trade schools to choose from.


Fayetteville Technical Community College


Fayetteville Technical Community College offers two programs in auto body repair. One is for those seeking a diploma, which takes three semesters, and one is for those looking for an evening/weekend program. This second program offers certification and takes two semesters to complete. The course work includes the fundamentals of auto body repair and safety and gives students the chance to perform hands-on repair.

Guilford Technical Community College


Under its Transportation Systems Technology umbrella, Guilford Technical Community College offers a certification program in auto body repair. Through completing the program, Guilford advises that the student will be prepared to make structural analysis of repairs that need to be performed, perform any painting or surface refinishing work, and read and write estimates for customers as well as be proficient in replace plastics and use adhesives in car repair.

Randolph Community College


Randolph Community College offers a host of degree and certification programs, including one for auto body repair. Under its Industrial, Engineering and Transportation division, Randolph offers both a diploma and certification program for auto body repair. Students will learn repair and recondition automobiles and heavy equipment, receiving training in MIG welding, industry overview training, and repairs of a structural and non-structural nature.
