Down on the Farm


A day at Down at the Farm in Cove City, in North Carolina's coastal region, will give the children fresh country air in the wide-outdoors on an old-fashioned farm. A range of activity options await the celebrants as they hop on board a hay wagon for a farm tour, feed the animals and feast on birthday cake and ice cream. The price for birthday party groups of 10 people, ages two through adults, is $75. There is a $2 fee for each additional person. Wild Life


Celebrate life at the 154,000-acre Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in Manteo in the southeast region. According to U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.com, visitors explore a variety of habitats via walking or driving trails while looking for ducks, geese, swans, shorebirds, white-tailed deer, raccoons, quail, river otters, red wolves, and even black bear and American alligator. The refuge is open year round and admission is free. Nearby restaurants are available for meals, cake and ice cream.
