Buy Foreclosed Homes In Colorado

Not all foreclosures look like this. Some look almost new.

Colorado residents who are looking to buy a home either to resell or to live in may consider purchasing a foreclosure. Foreclosures usually cost less than other homes, and with a suffering economy, many people are going into foreclosure, resulting in a large supply of houses on the market. Buying a foreclosed home may be a good choice for those who are good at researching. Select a home that's in good shape and fits your budget.

Instructions

1. Get preapproved for a home loan if not planning to pay for the home in cash. Go to a Colorado bank loan officer and discuss preapproval for a home loan.

2. Go to a foreclosure listing site. Try Foreclosure Connections. Go to the site and select Colorado. Enter zip code. Select a foreclosure and click on the details. Sign up for the site and select a password -- which will require a minimal cost for a seven-day trial. Pay for the service and continue to follow the prompts.

3. Go to the Craigslist website and select Colorado for the Craigslist page. Select the city of choice. Go to the box with the heading "housing" and click on "real estate for sale." This will bring up a page with a search box in the right-hand corner. Enter the word "foreclosure" in the box as this will show a list of foreclosure homes for sale. Click on a home, and send an email to the seller.

4. Visit FreeForeclosureDatabase.com and select "Colorado." To narrow the search, enter a city or zip code. Press the button that says "search nationwide." This will display a list of different foreclosures for sale. Select a home. Contact the seller by calling the listed phone number and buy the home directly from the seller. If there is no contact information listed, visit the home's physical address.
