Grants for Repairing Old Churches
A church can be a large focal point in many communities. Church organizations can provide funding, and offer their own services to parishioners and those who live locally. Churches do need maintenance and repairs, and often, budgets don't allow for essential works to be completed. Fortunately, there are grant-giving institutions that can assist in helping fund the repairs churches need.
Save America's Treasures
Government funding is available for church repair and restoration works through the Save America's Treasures organization and is part of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Save America's Treasures makes grant money available for conservation, restoration and repair works on buildings deemed historically significant. Although not limited to them, churches are eligible for the funding. To qualify, the place must be a non-profit organization exempt from federal taxes. Save America's Treasures offers the funding on a dollar per dollar matching scheme with a matching minimum of $25,000.
