Mold is a serious and sometimes deadly problem found in many modern homes. The Department of Housing and Urban Development
The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) provides grants to Native Americans to have mold removed from their homes. HUD's block grants fund government-registered tribes with money for construction and mold removal.
FEMA
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) offers grants for those with homes affected by natural or man-made disaster. To qualify for a grant, a FEMA official will inspect your home to determine the cause and type of mold. You must have a contractor give you an estimate for the cost of removal.
Environmental Protection Agency
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) provides grants for those working to find new and more effective mold removal techniques. These grants are not directly for homeowners, but researchers contact some property owners to use their homes for studies and to test mold removal methods.
