A dislodged disk can easily jam a DVD tray.
A stuck DVD tray is annoying, particularly if you are just sitting down to watch a movie. Often, a DVD tray malfunction is caused by a foreign object getting stuck within the tray, thus preventing it from moving normally. However, if these troubleshooting steps do not solve the problem, this can indicate a more serious hardware issue. In that case, contact Bose customer support. When attempting to repair your DVD tray, do not use force or stick any tools inside the tray compartment.
Instructions
1. Press the eject button while pushing gently against the front of the DVD tray. Sometimes a little bit of pressure is all that is needed to coax a jammed tray back out.
2. Turn off the Bose module and unplug the power cord. Locate the tiny hole beneath the DVD tray. Unbend and straighten out a paper clip. Insert the paper clip into the hole. Slide it in until you hear or feel a click. The tray should open enough for you to pull it out with your fingers.
3. Remove any DVDs that are stuck inside. Plug the module back in and press the eject button. It is possible that the problem was caused by the DVD becoming displaced within the tray. If the tray sticks again, turn off the machine and repeat Step 1 to get it back open.
4. Look for any obvious foreign objects that may be blocking the path of the tray, such as bits of paper or other debris. Clean the tray using the compressed air. This will remove any dust and dirt sticking to the tray. Be thorough and clean the tray from all sides. Blow the air away from the machine, so that you are not blowing dust back inside the machine. Turn the machine back on to make sure that the tray can now move freely.
