Find An Audience For Your Ebook

Authoring an ebook is an easy and affordable way to share your experience, expertise and thoughts with a wide audience of online readers. For a small fee, eBooks can be downloaded to a handheld device or directly to a reader’s computer. They provide new authors with an amazing opportunity to be heard and offer everyone the chance to be published without the expense and headaches associated with using traditional editors and publishing companies. Writing and publishing an ebook is simple, but finding an audience for your book is typically much more complicated. To successfully market and sell your ebook, you need an audience. You must seek out groups of people online that are interested in your topic and are willing to read and purchase your book. Although this task might seem daunting, it is not difficult to find an audience for your ebook if you know where to look.

Instructions

1. Write with your target audience in mind. Focusing on a specific area or topic provides you with a pre-qualified market for your book. If your book is written for a broad, general audience, your marketing options will be fewer and your competition will be significantly greater.

2. Create a website based upon content similar to the subject of your ebook. If you do not have the time or ability to create a website by yourself, you can hire a company or a freelance web designer to create one for you. The cost of creating your website will depend on many factors, including the amount of content you wish to add to your site and whether you create and maintain the website by yourself. A website is an excellent means of marketing your ebook, and well-written sites will rank highly in the search engines, bringing in visitors who are already interested in the topic of your book.

3. Read comments left on your blog or website, and use those comments to determine your target audience. You should also read the comments of other blogs in your niche and leave comments of your own that include a link to the page where your ebook can be purchased. This approach, if done correctly, will not only increase your traffic, but will provide you with valuable feedback that can be used to better market your ebook.

4. Seek out forums and social media sites that cater to your particular niche. Members of niche social media sites are considerably more likely to purchase your ebook than a random web user that finds you through search engine results. In order for this tactic to be successful, you must actively participate in the communities. Niche forums are especially useful for creating links back to your ebook, and the use of a signature that contains your URL is a simple and effective way to reach your audience and expand your reader base.

5. Write an article for an ezine, or create an ezine of your own. This is very effective advertising, and will allow you to offer your readers valuable information in addition to the content contained in your book. An ezine will also help establish your credibility as an expert in your field, and as your ezine audience grows, so will the audience for your ebook.
