Repair The Surface Of A Concrete Driveway

Repair a concrete driveway.

A concrete driveway is a common sight for many homes and is a popular choice because of its durability and inexpensive nature. Though quite capable of standing up to the elements, over time, your concrete driveway can crack and become severely pitted. While this may have been cause for concern in the past, concrete resurfacers allow homeowners to repair their driveways with relative ease. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Attend to cracks in the surface of the driveway that are larger than 1/2 inch wide by applying a thick bead of the concrete repair caulk along the length of the cracks and smoothing over the excess with a putty knife. Allow the caulk to dry for 2 to 4 hours before continuing.

2. Mix the bag of concrete resurfacer and 2 1/2 quarts of warm tap water in the large 5-gallon bucket for 3 to 4 minutes using the drill motor and paddle. One 20 lb. pound of resurfacer will cover approximately 50 square feet of surface. Mix a single bag at a time and work in sections to cover your entire driveway.

3. Pour the resurfacer from the bucket onto the driveway and quickly spread with the flat trowel to approximately 1/16 of an inch. Once the resurfacer is level, allow the driveway to completely dry for 48 hours before driving or walking on its surface.
