Mobile Home Repair Supplies

While it is true that mobile homes are found in many communities, they are not the same as traditional stick homes. Because they are mobile, they often have different problems than immobile homes do. Thus, they require certain supplies in order to repair them when something goes awry. Below are just a few tools that you will find useful when it comes time to repair your mobile home. Does this Spark an idea?

Reverse Drill with Hex Head

One thing about mobile homes is that they tend to have a lot more screws than stick homes do. This makes a drill a necessity because it saves so much more time and is much easier on you physically. You will want a reverse drill because over time you will be replacing a lot of loose, stripped or rusty screws and it's simpler to have a drill that will do both the screwing and unscrewing for you.

Drainage Snakes

Mobile homes have exposed drainage lines, unlike stick homes, which make it necessary to have drainage snakes. Drainage snakes allow you to free blockages by pushing the tip down further through the drainage lines. If the clog still isn't fixed, you can easily go underneath your mobile home where the exposed lines are and find the problem that way.

Air Gun and Compressor

Air tools allow homeowners the ability to complete home projects much quicker than they would be able to if they were doing the work manually. An air gun is no exception, especially for the mobile home owner. Many mobile homes have wood paneling and many feet of wood trim throughout the house. An air gun makes the task of nailing trim nails much easier and quicker. However, to make any air tool work properly, you must have an air compressor to provide the air pressure it needs to function. Air compressors not only work with air guns and other tools, but they have a number of attachments that can make a variety of tasks easier. A few examples include power washing, masking and painting your home.

PVC Cutter

Most mobile homes have an abundance of PVC pipe for the plumbing, and when plumbing problems occur, it is always nice to have a PVC cutter on hand. Many people don't see the necessity of it and think using a hacksaw does the trick just fine. However, it is possible to cause more damage to the PVC pipe by cutting it with a hacksaw. A PVC cutter allows you to make a clean and straight cut to the PVC pipe, which will cause fewer problems later down the road. When shopping for the right cutter, be sure to consider purchasing one that can also cut through copper. This will make your cutter even more valuable.
