Reset A Craftsman Door Opener

Craftsman garage door openers are operated by a control panel inside the garage and by remote control. Garage door opener remote controls are programmed with a special code that is stored by the opener. Multiple remote control codes can be saved by the garage door opener depending on the amount of people that need access to the garage. If you need to remove remote controls programmed into the opener, reset the system. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Climb the step ladder until you can comfortably reach the motor control unit attached to the ceiling of your garage.

2. Press and hold the "Learn" button until the indicator light goes out. Once the indicator light goes out, the stored remote control codes are erased from the system.

3. Reprogram the remote control by pressing and releasing the "Learn" button to set the motor control unit in programming mode. The indicator light will turn on.

4. Push the remote control button you want to control the garage door. Your remote may have up to three buttons to control three different doors. Choose a button that is not assigned to a door. The indicator light will turn off and the motor control unit lights will blink twice when the remote control button is programmed.

5. Press the assigned remote control button to test if it is working. If the button does not operate the door, repeat steps 3 and 4.
