Cincinnati.com is owned by the same company that owns the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Community Press Recorder newspapers; ads placed on the website will also be featured in both newspapers. The classified sections of both newspapers and the website contain a section dedicated to local garage sales. You will have a limited number of words based on the size of the ad purchased. List the title "Garage Sale" with key items and the address of the sale. You can also place a photo with the ad.
2. Place a free garage sale ad on Craigslist. The Cincinnati section of Craigslist offers a list of local garage and moving sales under its "For Sale" category. Garage sales are listed by date. If you list the ad on Monday, the ad will display under that day and date. To get attention, enter a catchy title such as "Huge Moving Sale! Electronics, Tools and Xbox 360." In the body of your add enter some of the sale items, along with your address. You can even include pictures of items, your phone number and email address.
3. Post a garage sale ad on City Beat. This website offers a free classified section featuring items for sale or free in the Cincinnati area. The site doesn't have a page dedicated to garage sales, but they have a classified section that has web pages for electronics, clothing, furniture, household and other types of items. Select the option to post an ad, select the category of the most valuable or attractive items, select your city, and enter your add information. You can upload up to four images to display with your ad.
