Kids Activities At Lowes

Kids get hands-on learning with activities at Lowe's.

Lowe's is a home improvement store that sells a wide variety of products related to home repair and enhancement, such as power tools, patio furniture, water heaters, plumbing supplies, wood, nails and much more. In addition to offering in-store help and online lessons about all kinds of projects, Lowe's has a series of kids' activities which occur approximately every other week. All kids are welcome to attend these clinics. Each clinic day has a specific project.

Monster Truck

One of the activities Lowe's offers is a Monster Truck Clinic. All children who register for and attend this clinic will receive a monster truck kit, including wheels and stickers, a Lowe's apron and safety goggles. Most stores have a limit of 50 kids for this activity. The recommended age is six through 11 years old. During the clinic, kids will receive personalized instruction and assistance from Lowe's employees, as well as the loan of any necessary tools. Parents should expect to stay with younger kids. There is no charge for the clinic and the child can take his completed monster truck with him when he is done.

Bird House

As with the monster truck clinic, children who attend this activity will receive a complete kit with all that is necessary to build a wooden birdhouse, a Lowe's apron and safety goggles. Because the bird house is a bit easier to assemble than the monster truck, children as young as five may enjoy this activity. Lowe's employees will assist your child in following the directions and completing all steps necessary to make a birdhouse form the kit. Employees will also suggest places to hang the bird house, compatible plants, and what types of birds may be in the area that will use the house.

Ball and Cup Game

Children who are interested can attend the clinic at Lowe's to learn make the classic ball and cup game. At most stores there will be a limit of 50 kits available, and only children who pre-register are eligible for these. (There may be some exceptions made in individual stores. Check locally to determine the rules at your local Lowe's.) Kids will also be given an apron and safety goggles, as well as nails and the loan of tools needed to assemble this toy. This game is fun for kids older than 11, so if you have a 12-year-old who would like to build this kit, bring her to the clinic. She will probably find that she enjoys building her own wooden toy. At the end of this activity every child will have a completed ball and cup game to take home.
