Tell If A Prada Wallet Is Fake

There is an old saying that states, The best things in life are not free. That statement is certainly true when you're shopping for designer accessories. European designers, like Prada, have become famous for their high-quality (and high-priced) fashion accessories.

The world of fashion has become plagued with merchandisers who attempt to sell fake items to unsuspecting customers, who believe they are getting a great deal on an authentic item. There are certain things to look for when you are trying to determine if a Prada wallet is real or fake.

Instructions

1. Examine the material. Prada produces items of luxury made only from the finest materials. Patterns or material grain should be flawless, showcasing superb craftsmanship.

2. Touch the logo. Prada's label is recognized as an upside-down triangle that is firmly attached at each of the three points. The label should read PRADA, with MILANO written under it.. All letters should be slightly raised.

3. Look for the interior plaque. Some fraudulent designers will neglect to insert a label on the inside of the wallet. Authentic Prada wallets will have PRADA-MILANO embossed on one side and MADE IN ITALY on the other.

4. Read the certification. If the seller cannot produce a certificate of authenticity, consider the wallet a fake. Authentic Prada wallets should have two certificates of authenticity; one is on paper and the other is a card.

The certificates should be written in Italian, listing the model name, type of material used, color of item, size, shop and date. The paper certificate should list the same descriptions, but will have a bar code that provides you with the wallet's model name.

Tips Warnings

When the name PRADA is authentically printed on the label, the leg of the R should curve slightly. If the leg of the R is straight, you will know it is a fake.

When purchasing an authentic Prada wallet, be sure to keep your certificates of authenticity in a safe place. If you want to sell your wallet at a later time, you will be able to give the buyer the authentic certification.
