Remove Carpet Stains With Oxyclean

Foot traffic can bring in all types of matter and create foot traffic pattern stains.

Knowing remove carpet stains with OxiClean will extend the life and attractiveness of your carpets. The original OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover powder works best on carpet stains, but there are a number of OxiClean-brand products formulated for different applications. It is important to always read the label to identify exactly what you need. The best time to address a stain is always as soon as possible after it occurs. It is important to cordon off the stained area, sometimes, so foot traffic will not track a fresh stain everywhere.

Instructions

1. Make a solution of 1/8 scoop of OxiClean (the scoop comes in the package of OxiClean) with 2 cups of hot water.

2. Cover the stain completely with the solution. Wet the stain thoroughly without soaking it.

3. Gently use a sponge or soft-bristled brush to rub the solution into the stain.

4. Let the solution work on the carpet stain for one hour.

5. Blot the excess liquid from the carpet by laying a thick, clean, soft cloth over the stain and pressing down evenly and gently. The objective is to allow the liquid to absorb into the cloth.

6. Rinse the stain by pouring clean water over it and laying a thick, clean, soft cloth over the stain, again pressing down evenly and gently. Repeat the process until the stain is gone and the floor is dry. Do not allow people to walk on the area where the stain was until the spot has air-dried completely.

7. Vacuum the stain area thoroughly after it has dried.

Tips Warnings

While OxiClean is generally color-fast, it is a good idea to test a small out-of-the-way patch of the carpet to make certain the carpet color doesn't turn. You can use OxiClean in carpet cleaning machines in lieu of other cleansers.

Read package directions carefully if your skin is easily irritated, and always be certain to wear gloves when handling any cleaning compound.
