Repair a Leak in My Sleep Number Bed

When it comes to a leak in a Sleep Number bed, start by identifying the source of the leak to establish whether you can repair it yourself or whether the fault falls under the manufacturer's warranty. Instructions
1. Remove all bed coverings and pillows from the mattress and set them aside. Unzip the mattress cover, exposing the air pockets for the mattress. Since Select Comfort Sleep Number beds come in a variety of options, refer to your owner's manual for installation instructions and air pocket locations.
2. Put your ear next to the mattress and listen for a leak. If you cannot hear any air escaping, use a small piece of aluminum foil. Gently guide the foil around the mattress until it vibrates, indicating the source of the leak. You can also fill a spray bottle with water and several drops of dish soap, then spray the mattress with the mixture. Bubbling soap indicates a leak.
3. Mark leaks with a permanent marker as you discover them. Call the customer service number for Select Comfort to have a technician come out and service any leaks in the air pockets. If the leak is in the air-compressing unit, however, it is possible to fix this on your own.
4. Check the hoses and connectors at the top of the bed. Unsnap and reconnect hoses according to manufacturer installation instructions to test the seal. Place your hand over the seal to evaluate if any air is lost. Feel the hoses and connectors for any cracks or damaged areas. Order a replacement hose or connector to replace damaged items and install it to stop the leak.
