Advertise A Computer Business

Help your computer business grow with advertising.

Being skilled with computers isn't enough to make your computer business a success. Part of building a truly successful business is using effective advertising. This lets local customers know you're out there and ready to serve their needs. After all, you cannot attract customers if no one knows you exist. Figuring out advertise your computer business is perhaps confusing, but there's no reason to panic. Seeking out tried-and-true advertising methods will help you draw in more customers and increase profits.

Instructions

1. Circulate fliers. Leave them on car windshields and other impossible-to-miss locations. Post them at local businesses your target market likes to frequent, whether coffee shops or electronics stores. Leave them at community hot spots like recreation centers and supermarkets to attract potential customers. Make sure your fliers not only advertise your business, but also your areas of specialty, whether repairs, custom computer building or virus removal. Advertise how much money and hassle you can save customers and compare the costs of repair versus replacement.

2. Use traditional advertising venues. Purchase an ad in the Yellow Pages. Buy advertising space in the newspaper and other print publications like coupon books and real estate booklets. Create a television or radio commercial, if your budget allows.

3. Solicit other small businesses. Visit the ones without their own tech support team or with few employees or even home-based businesses. Create a letter of interest and send promotional kits to area businesses, letting them know you want to service their computer support needs. Do cold calling. Ask owners or managers if they need help with computer support tasks such as repairs, network creation or monitoring employee Internet usage. Appeal to their bottom line and point out how much cheaper it is to retain your services as a contractor than to hire in-house tech support staff or replace equipment.

4. Encourage word-of-mouth advertising. Deliver quality service to your customers at reasonable rates. Go above and beyond customer expectations to convince them your services are a great value. Do something extra special to differentiate your business from your competitors, such as offering wholesale rates on computer components or having professionals available for house calls 24-7.
