Get Home Grants For Single Parents

If you're a single parent, then you probably need all of the financial help that you can get. When you apply for and get approval for a home grant for single parents, you're given a stipend to help cover the cost of your home. You can use this money to help provide for your family.

Instructions

1. Find home grants for single parents. In order to receive a grant, you have to first find grants that you're eligible to apply for. You can use the Grants.gov website to research hundreds of home grants for single parents.

2. Read the eligibility requirements. In order for the government to approve you for a single parent housing grant, you'll have to meet the specified requirements. Each grant will differ slightly, but likely will require that you not exceed a certain specified income and provide proof of single parenthood. Single parenthood categories could include divorced persons with custody of the child, abandonment by the other parent, and death or imprisonment of the other parent.

3. Complete the grant application after downloading the package. Once you find the home grant for a single parent, you can fill out the application through the Grants.gov website and send it in before the specified deadline. You may need to send in verification information with the application, like a copy of your drivers' license and pay stubs.

4. Speak to a social worker. If you have a social worker assigned to your case, you can ask her about getting home grant money due to your single parent status. Visit your state's Social Services site for additional information.
