Instructions

Repairing a Hole in Vinyl Siding

1. Cut off a little corner of your siding to sample the color, or if you have an extra piece of it, use that.

2. Take the example piece of siding to your local hardware store or paint store and find the exact matching color and buy a small can of outdoor house paint suitable for painting on vinyl surfaces.

3. Buy foil tape and exterior silicon caulk at your local hardware store.

4. Cut out a piece of foil tape out that is approximately a centimeter bigger than the hole or crack in the vinyl siding. Stick it over the hole firmly.

5. Squirt exterior silicon caulk over and around the tape. Smooth it flat with a popsicle stick. Allow it to dry for several hours.

6. Paint the matching paint over the tape and caulk. Brush paint lightly onto the surrounding centimeter of the patch to blend the color into the surrounding siding.
