Home inspection courses are required by law.
Home inspectors operating in Massachusetts are required to complete at least 24 hours of state education (CEUs) within every 24-month period. This requirement is the minimum for license renewal. Courses meeting these requirements vary and are offered by both private companies and nonprofit organizations.

This home-inspection course has been approved by the State Board of Registration of Home Inspectors for 6 of the required contact hours. This one-day course requires a small course fee, which includes the cost of the seminar. Upon completion you will receive a certificate confirming your attendance.

This board-accredited community college runs continuing education courses at campuses in Brockton and Canton. All home-inspection courses are conveniently scheduled in the evenings from 6 p.m. until 9:30.p.m. Massachusetts codes, problem analysis and report writing are just three of the subjects available.

The ASHI School
Some home-inspection courses are available via the Internet.
The school is a joint venture of the American Society of Home Inspectors and Casey, O'Malley and Associates. ASHI's courses combine pre-class study materials, live classes and practical, in-field home-inspection training. Nearly half of all training is done out in the field. Upon completing a Massachusetts home-inspection course, you will receive a year's membership in the American Society of Home Inspectors.
