Repair A Concrete Tile Roof Yourself

Use a partner to help repair a concrete tile roof.


Concrete tile roofs are beautiful and practical. But when a concrete tile cracks, due to weather or objects like heavy branches that fall on them, it detracts from the overall look of your house. Luckily, concrete tile roofs are relatively easy to repair yourself with just a little patience. This task involves climbing onto a roof. If you at all doubt your capabilities to do this task, call in a professional instead. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


1. Access the tile that needs replacing. If using a ladder, always make sure the feet are on firm and level footing. Remember to tread carefully on the roof so has not to damage any other concrete tiles as you go.


2. Take one of the two crowbars and gently wedge it under the concrete roof tile on top of the one that is causing your need to repair. Place the crowbar tip just the right of the tile you wish to remove.


3. The second crowbar goes under the concrete roof tile directly to the left of the broken one. If possible, use a partner for this task.


4. With the tiles around the one in need of repair lifted up, you should be able to take the cracked concrete roof tile out. You may need to slide it up to unhook it from board.


5. Slide your brand new concrete roof tile into place.


6. Carefully remove the the crowbars that are holding the surrounding tiles up to lock everything back into place.
