Troubleshoot A Crosley Washing Machine

The Crosley Appliance Company manufactures home appliances, including air conditioners, dehumidifiers, televisions, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, microwave ovens, dishwashers and washers and dryers. The company produces a variety of washers, including extra-large-capacity, front-load and top-load, with a variety of features, including temperature sensors, high-efficiency power and Energy Star ratings. Troubleshooting a Crosley washer may help you if you're experiencing problems with the unit and are in need of assistance. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Check to see that the Crosley washer is properly connected to a working power supply if the washer does not turn on. Reset local fuses or circuit breakers as necessary.

2. Stop the washer and open the lid or door if the washer is making a squealing sound or there is a hot rubber odor emanating from the machine. Reduce the number of items in the machine and resume the wash cycle.

3. Make sure the washer is resting evenly on the floor if the washer makes vibrating noises during use. Adjust the leveling legs as necessary so that they are all touching the floor. Open the washer and redistribute clothing items if the legs are level on the floor but the washer is still vibrating during use.

4. Add a few more items to be washed if the washer will not spin. This indicates that the washing load is too small.

5. Wipe down the drum with a clean cloth and a nonabrasive household cleaner if there is residue in the drum after the wash cycle completes. Shake out excess dirt or debris from clothing items prior to placing them in the washer.

6. Make sure the drain hose is not kinked or clogged if the water is not filling or draining properly. Check to make sure the water valves are completely open and the drain hose is lifted off the ground to allow for proper drainage. The drain hose standpipe should be at least 23.6 inches in height.
