Teach Yourself Computer Repair
Learning repair computers can save you money when something goes wrong, and it can even turn into a rewarding career. If you have a decent understanding of computers and how they work, then you are on the right path. Diagnosing hardware and software errors is sometimes the hardest part, once you have a good understanding of the inner workings of computers.
Instructions
1. Buy a computer repair toolkit. They generally come with tools specifically for computers such as small screwdrivers and tools to pick up processors and other parts.
2. Get an old computer that you can practice taking apart and troubleshooting. If you don't have a spare, ask friends and family. If you can't get one from someone you know, check used computer stores.
3. Study computer components as well as proper handling and troubleshooting. Buy a reference book to look up errors and components. A+ certification books are excellent for this as they are the training guides for the computer repair certification.
4. Practice fixing different errors, tearing apart and rebuilding computers. Offer to fix any problems family and friends are having with their PCs.
5. Watch a professional work on a computer, if possible. Ask if you can watch when one works on your computer or a friend's. Professionals are a great source for information and tips.
