Find Old Mobile Home Parts

Mobile homes are manufactured houses which are not constructed of brick and mortar or concrete blocks. Because mobile homes are built on a steel frame with wood framing, there is an element of wear greater than that of a traditional home. Mobile homes are considered personal property and unlike real property, depreciate rather than appreciate. For this reason, many mobile home owners seek to make repairs rather than try to sell the home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Phone a mobile home transport and set-up service. Find a mobile home transport service in your local phone book. Call the transport and set-up service and ask where they get replacement parts from. Inquire if they have any parts which they sell to the public.

2. Contact a mobile home supply store. Find a mobile home supply store online, through the phone book or by asking the mobile home transport and set-up service. There are different supply companies throughout the United States such as Mobile Home Advantage (see Resources).

3. Get in touch with the manufacturer. Ask if it sells parts directly to the public or has a retail front supply store. If not, ask about a manufactured home outlet supply or wholesale stores the manufacturer deals with.

4. Speak to other mobile-home owners. Ask other mobile home owners if they have had to make repairs and where they purchased necessary parts. If they used a contractor, ask for the contractor's contact information and get in touch with him to find his parts source.
