Repair your Scratched LCD Monitor
An LCD screen, which is the abbreviation for a "liquid crystal display" screen, is an electronic optical device made of a thin layer of liquid crystals and placed in front of a light source. One of the advantages to having an LCD screen is that it takes up a very small amount of energy. For this reason, small hand held electronic devices usually use LCD screens. LCD screens are also employed in computer monitors, including desktop and laptop models, and televisions. One drawback to LCD screens is that they are fragile and can be scratched easily.
Instructions
1. Wipe the LCD gently with a damp eyeglass polishing cloth to remove any excess dirt and dust.
2. Rub a clean pencil eraser back and forth slowly over the scratch. Do not rub the eraser too hard.
3. Wipe the scratch gently with the damp polishing cloth.
4. Dip a Q-tip in Vaseline and apply generously to the scratch. You want to fill in the entire depth of the scratch, so use more if it is a deeper scratch and less if it is a minor scratch.
5. Buff the screen with a dry section of the eyeglasses polishing cloth. The scratch on your LCD should be lighter and less apparent, if not completely gone.
