Repair The Rca Rs2663 Audio System

Making the considerable investment to purchase and use a home stereo system such as the RCA RS2663 necessitates knowing some basic troubleshooting skills to address problems that may arise, such as a failure to play CDs, poor sound quality, or even a failure to power on at all. In short order even the least tech-savvy home user can troubleshoot these issues and restore full functionality to the RS2663.

Instructions

1. Unplug the RS2663's AC power cable from the electrical source into which it is plugged and plug it into an alternate electrical source. Use this troubleshooting step if the RS2663 does not power on at all or intermittently loses power. If the RS2663 still experiences power issues no matter what electrical source it is plugged into, you may need to replace the cord or have the RS2663 serviced.

2. Insert multiple CDs into the RS2663's CD tray, one by one, to test the RS2663's CD-reading ability. If you cannot play any CDs on the RS2663, the first thing to determine is whether the CD or the RS2663's CD-reading components that are at fault. If the RS2663 does not play any CDs, the RS2663 will likely need to be serviced for a malfunction of its CD-reading components.

3. Unplug the speaker wire from the back of the RS2663 by pressing the speaker terminal tab and pulling the speaker wire out. Check the ends of the speaker wire for any damage. Assuming they look undamaged, plug the speaker wire back into the port and release the speaker terminal tab. This is an essential troubleshooting step if you are experiencing audio distortion when playing CDs, cassette tapes, or any other media through the RS2663. Replace any speaker wire that is damaged or if the audio distortion is not resolved by plugging the speaker wire back in.
