Converting your concrete patio into a wood deck can be done in one day, allowing you to skip the more difficult portion of deck construction. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
Instructions
1. Design your wood deck shape and size.
2. Cut strips of treated timber only a few inches thick to the length prescribed and the quanity required by your particular plan.
3. Lay the planks of wood in rows on the concrete ground. They should be placed perpendicular to the adjacent wall, pointing away from the joists.
4. Once you are satisfied with the layout of your deck, mark the points at which you plan to drill holes in the planks, both on the wood and on the concrete surface below.
5. Use 1/4-inch anchor wedge screws to secure your planks in place, raised a few inches above the concrete. You will have to use a masonry bit to drill the holes through the concrete.
6. Make sure that the concrete surface is not in contact with the decking. Once you have confirmed that water can easily drain from the concrete below the planks, tighten the anchor wedges.
7. Paint or finish your deck. When it dries, your deck is complete.
