Remove The Radio In A Ford Aerostar

Remove the Radio in a Ford Aerostar

If the radio in your Ford Aerostar has failed, then it's time to replace it. Many aftermarket radios exist for the Aerostar; but because the Aerostar uses self-locking head units, you'll need a radio made specifically for the Aerostar. Universal mounts will not work. Once you've purchased the new radio, the first step is to remove it. To do this, you'll need special tools available from most auto parts stores called DIN tools.

Instructions

1. Slide the open end of the DIN tools into the two holes on each side of the Aerostar's radio unit. Use one DIN tool for each side of the radio

2. Apply outward pressure on each DIN tool.

3. Pull the DIN tools out of the dash along with the radio unit while maintaining outward pressure on both DIN tools.

4. Remove the electrical connector from the back of the radio unit.

5. Remove the antenna cable from the back of your Aerostar's radio.
