Do It Yourself Sink Repair

Repair your sink yourself to save cash.

Whether your kitchen sink or bathroom sink is in need of repair, you do not have to worry. You can easily give the sink a quick fix and fill in the broken or chipped edges and the hairline cracks. You do not need to waste money on hiring a professional since you can purchase the few supplies you need and get the job done in no time. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Clean the sink with warm water and a sponge. Gently scrub the surface until it feels slick to the touch and then dry it with a soft cloth. Let it air dry as well for about 10 minutes to make sure there is no moisture on the surface when making the repair.

2. Place a small amount of epoxy on a paintbrush and carefully apply it to the crack or chipped area. If it is a crack, you can use a toothpick to help fill in the crack without making too much of a mess. If it is a chip, you can apply several layers of epoxy on top of each other, leaving a few minutes of drying time between each layer.

3. Dampen a corner of the sponge and carefully remove any excess epoxy surrounding the repair. Give the epoxy 24 hours to dry.

4. Paint over the repair to help it blend in with the rest of the surface using a paint color that matches the ceramic sink.
