Find Water Parks In Texas

Find Water Parks in Texas

When the hot summer days of Texas arrive, kids of all ages will be ready to splash down a slide in one of the state's many water parks. Here are some of the most popular parks to visit when you want to cool down and have fun.

Instructions

1. Slide on down to Adventure Water Theme Park in Houston. For those more adventuresome attendees, try the speed slides, Master Blaster and Lost Falls. If you are working your way up to the “real” rides, start with Paradise Bay, Pirates Cove and Rio Lento (soothing river ride). Parking is free and they are open between Memorial Day and Labor Day every year. This park allows you to bring your own picnic, where others may not.

2. Splash your way over to Texas Water Rampage (Rio Rampage) in Lubbock. Try out the Tidal Wave with its 4-foot waves. Twist and turn down 400 feet of water slide in the Twin Twisters. There is also a volleyball court and horseshoe pit for a midday break. Toddlers will have plenty of entertainment at this water park.

3. Drive to hot, dry Amarillo to see the FireWater Park. This 14-acre park is known for its speed and flume slides. Save time to try out the wave pool and lazy river. When you are ready for a break, they also offer an arcade, food stands and a café.

4. Enjoy everything Waco Water Park in Waco has to offer. Try the Water Shooting Playscape and the two pools, one a zero-depth pool. For adults, they offer water aerobics. There are plenty of conscientious lifeguards on duty, so you won’t have to worry about the kids.

5. Try out Hero’s Water World in Midland. It’s open from May to Labor Day. Have fun in the 500,000-gallon tumble wave pool--its feature attraction. But, they tout some awesome body slides and other great attractions. Make sure you plan a weekend trip, it can be frustrating to show up on a Wednesday when it’s closed. It's open only on weekends.
