Manually Operate A Craftsman 1/2 Hp Garage Door

Having an automatic garage door opener will allow you to conveniently open and close your garage door by simply pressing a button on a remote control or wall-mounted switch located in your garage. The Craftsman 1/2 horsepower automatic garage door opener features a safety reversing sensor just in case an object such as a person, car bumper or pet is in the path of the garage door while lowering it. If your home loses power or your Craftsman automatic garage door opener ceases to operate correctly, you can open or close your garage door manually. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Locate the manual release lever on the center rail of the garage door opener. The emergency release handle suspends from a short length of rope, from the center rail.

2. Check underneath the garage door to make sure that your vehicle, other persons and any other object is clear from the path of the garage door if you need to manually lower it.

3. Pull the manual release handle straight down in order to actuate the release lever located on the rail. Grasp a safe area on the garage door to manually lift it up or pull it down.

4. Pull the manual release handle at a 45-degree angle toward the garage door opener in order to lock the door in place.
