Repair A Rusted Bed On A Ford F150 Truck

Ford F150 trucks are the workhorses of the truck world. With large beds and engines to match, these trucks can handle pretty much anything you throw at them. Because of the long life of the F150, sometimes the body of the truck begins to deteriorate when the drivetrain of the truck still has a lot of miles left in it. If the bed on your Ford F150 has begun rusting, follow these instructions to get a few more miles out of your truck.

Instructions

1. Use the sandpaper to sand down the rust around the edges of one of the holes in your bed. Use the tin snips to cut out a piece of sheet metal to fit inside the rusted out hole.

2. Use the metal screws to screw the sheet metal into place inside the hole. Open the body putty and mix up the two components 50/50 until the putty is pliable enough to spread.

3. Use the putty knife included in the kit to spread the putty on top of the hole and the sheet metal. Allow the putty to fully dry and then use the sandpaper to sand the putty smooth.

4. Spray paint the putty to match the rest of the bed and prevent further rusting. Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for the rest of the holes in the truck bed.
