Change Remotes For Sears Garage Door Openers

Sears manufactures garage door openers under the Craftsman name. In time, the remote control supplied with the garage door opener may be lost or become inoperable. Users can program a replacement remote control to operate the garage door. In order to use the replacement remote control with your garage door opener, you need to purge the old remote control from the garage door memory. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions


1. Set up the step ladder under the motor control unit and climb it to a point where you can comfortably reach the control buttons.


2. Press and hold the "Learn" button until the indicator light turns off to erase the current remote control's code.


3. Enter the programming mode by pressing the "Learn" button. The indicator light will turn on.


4. Hold the button on the new remote control that you want to operate the garage door until the safety lights on the motor control unit blink twice. The indicator light will shut off.


5. Test the new remote control by pressing the programmed button. The door should operate when you press the button. If it doesn't, repeat steps from the "Learn" button.
