Reset A Craftsman 3/4 Garage Door Opener

Home security is something that should be taken seriously. Most new homeowners automatically re-key the locks on a new home, but few remember to reset the garage door openers and keyless entry PIN. If you have a Craftsman ¾ HP opener, make sure that you reset it after you move in so you can be certain that you are the only one who has access to your garage. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Erase the current remote codes. Set up a six-foot stepladder underneath the garage door opener. Locate the "Learn" button on the main motor assembly. Press and hold the "Learn" button for six seconds. The LED will go out when the reset is complete.

2. Re-sync the remotes by first pressing the "Learn" button on the main unit, then press and hold the button on the remote within 30 seconds. Release the remote button once the LED on the main unit begins to blink. Repeat this step for every remote you wish to reprogram.

3. Reset the keyless-entry keypad by entering the current PIN, then press and hold the "#" button. When the LED on the opener blinks twice, release the "#" button. Input your new PIN and press the "Enter" button on the keypad.

4. Reset the keyless-entry PIN by an alternative method if you do not know the old PIN. Press the "Learn" button on the main unit. Within 30 seconds, input the new PIN on the keypad, followed by the "Enter" key. Release the "Enter" key when the main unit LED blinks.
