Repair Scratched Window Glass

Repair scratches on windows with clear nail polish.

Scratches appear as small lines on windows, scarring the glass surface. As sun shines on the glass, it amplifies the presence of the scratches, detracting from the beauty of the window. Attempting to rub the scratches from the glass will most likely only create more blemishes. Instead, fill the marks with a clear substance that will disguise the scratches without harming the glass itself. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Wipe dirt and grime from the scratches on the window glass with a damp sponge. Dry the area with a clean rag.

2. Apply clear nail polish generously over the scratches using the small brush applicator. Make sure the entire scratch is covered with the nail polish. Let the nail polish dry for three to four hours.

3. Moisten the tip of a cloth with nail polish remover. With your finger inside the moistened area of the cloth, carefully guide it over the excess nail polish beside the scratch marks. Get as close to the scratches as possible without removing the nail polish from within the blemishes.

4. Spray window cleaner on the glass. Wipe any streak marks left by the nail polish remover from the window with a soft cloth.
