If after purchasing your Compaq Presario your computer has gotten unstable due to system file problems, virus infections or other reasons, you should know that most Compaq computers come with a recovery program that can restore your computer back to its original factory settings. You can easily access the tool from your Windows 7 Desktop. Always make sure to back up your important files before proceeding.
Instructions
1. Click "Start" and enter Recovery in the search field.
2. Select "Recovery Manager" from the list. The "HP Recovery Manager" opens.
3. Select "System recovery." Your computer will go ahead and reboot and reload the "Recovery Manager."
4. Select "System recovery" and click "Next."
5. Select "Back up your files first (recommended)" option, and then click "Next."
6. Follow the on-screen instructions.
7. Click "Next." The computer will now begin the restoration process and return your Compaq Presario to original factory settings.
