Remove An Ironon Patch

Sometimes you might buy something at a secondhand shop that you really like or have had something handed down to you that you would like to wear, but there is a problem. There is a patch that you don't care for or you want moved to a different spot on the garment. How do you take the patch off? If it is sewn on, then it is as simple as carefully clipping some strings, but if it's ironed on, what do you do? Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Heat the iron to a medium heat.

2. Turn the garment inside out so that you will be placing the iron on the back side of the patch.

3. Place the thin cloth over the patch to keep from burning the garment.

4. Use the iron to heat the patch moving the iron around so as not to scorch the article of clothing.

5. Check the patch to see if it is loosening. If it is not, increase the heat of the iron and continue. Once it is loose, peal the patch off.

6. After the patch is removed, you will need to get rid of any excess residue from the iron on. Use a glue removal such as Goo Gone to take off the residue, but test it in a non-visible spot before applying to the actual area.
